Spent a couple of hours today at the range shooting a Kimber Solo, a HK Mark 23, HK USP 45 Expert and a HK USP 9mm Expert. Ran about 40 rounds thru the Solo shooting one handed. Picked up the Mark 23; shot it one handed, then double handed on a sand bag. Shooting from a bench best was barely better than one handed. Shooting the two USPs one handed gave me the best groups.
I think it's because I started shooting one handed approx. 70 years ago; resulting in it being a natural position for me. I'd been shooting two handed recently, kept feeling ackward, wanting to use one hand. This is all complicated by me being a lefty with a tremor causing me switch to the right side last year.
What's your best hand gun shooting position?
