I am looking into purchasing a good portable shooting bench to use here at the farm where I shoot alot and also at a near by range where I go some as well. I have never owned or really even used a bench (I usually shoot laying down), and was hoping to get some ideas and some opinions from some people who have some experience with different brands/kinds of benches. Any advice and opinion appreciated as always!

Well guide gear carries some pretty good ones,bench & table combos.
Myself I prefer a heavy duty tripod like a camera or telescope stand to use around the farm for hunting or target work.Just throw it & a folding yard chair in the truck,I also use a folding card table & a sand bag.Both make a easy & cheap hunting blind set up or shooting station.Just an idea.

If you don't care about a bit of wobble, just about any folding table will do. If you want something really solid, build it yourself. I'm sure there are really solid comercially made benches out there, but a good solid one will probably cost ya. Do a Google search on homemade shooting benches, and let your imagination {and your wallet} be your guide. One word of advice, three legs are better than four.
