Shooter Range Bags

Hey everyone, this is my first post so I am happy to jump right into the range bag section. My range bag is geared towards our standard issue firearm at work which is Glock22 Gen4. My bag consists of the following:

(1) Zombie Bag from LA Police Gear (Discontinued)
(1) Glock G22 Gen4
(3) 15rd Orange Plated "training" Magazines
(6) 15rd Black Plated "Duty Only" Magazines
(2) Blue full weight training Magazines
(1) Box of Orange Tip training ammo (25 count)
(1) 5.11 Brass Bag tote
(1) 5.11 G22 Thumbdrive Holster
(1) 5.11 G22 Dual Magazine Pouch
(2) 5.11 Magazine molle Pouches
(1) Galco single retention conceal holster
(1) CED 7000 Range Timer w/ Red Protective Sleeve
(5) Remington .40SW 180G MC Rounds x50 per box "Practice Ammo"
(1) Remington .40SW 180G JHP Rounds x25 per box "Duty Ammo"
(1) Small case containing bore snake / glock tool / misc cleaning tools & items
(5) Worrior Wipes for hand cleaning and hygene after shooting.

(1) Tactical Range Glasses

Welcome to the forum. My word, how much does that thing weigh when it's loaded?

Like many of us, I've defined and refined my range bags over the years. I've come down to two bags, one carrying my standard range impediments, such things as sandbags, a small tool kit, targets, muffs, a stapler, the kind of things we need on every range trip. For that stuff, it is carried in a Klein tool Bag. I've got the 22" canvas bag, picked it up for $10.00 at an auction.

For caliber specific items, I went to Harbor Freight and picked up some of their small canvas tool bags. In those I'll put stuff like ammo, a handgun, holsters, that sort of thing. For example, if I'm going to be shooting .38 special and .45 ACP, I'll have two of those small bags, one each with ammo, holster and handgun for each caliber.

I find, reaching old age, it's easier to carry a couple of smaller bags rather than one large bag. Of course, your mileage might vary.

I will agree that with having each item mapped out in the way I have explained does make it appear as though it's heavy. I will post some photos here and see if that helps.
You make a valid point about separate small bags and if I get into a larger array of shooting different calibers I'll have to approach it the same way you do. My method is on a smaller scale and geared only towards .40SW as that is our law enforcement round. I am often torn between "fashion vs. function" in that I am not above going that extra mile to impress my co-workers and those around me with gear.

Range Bag Images

The total weight of the pack is 18.2 lbs. I consider it really light for what I am able to take with me. I must also add that I am a Defensive Tactics instructor so we are able to do tactical gun fighting or weapon retention at our range if needed.
