I was wondering for those of you with ak's which have high round counts, how well are the guns doing. has anyone shot out an ak, what parts go first. can anyone give me an estimate on an ak's life?
I did a search and didn't find much, actually i found a spectrum of opinion from 7000 rounds to 150000 rounds... big gap, need someone to fill in the hole there. even for those of you in the short thousands, how is it doing.
You can shoot the rifling out of anything... Depending upon the hardness of the steel will determin the life of the barrel, I guess.
Even if you shoot the rifling out of the AK, it remains an AK and thus perfectly servicable for fighting at normal combat ranges.
Just drop in some fresh springs every 20K rounds or so and you should have no problems.
