shipping model 27-2 to calif. ?

find the dealer you wan't the gun shipped to in california and locate a dealer in your area that will assist you in shipping the gun to the dealer in california.

stevo, baby, budy!
First find out when the firearm was manufactured, if it was made fifty years or earlyer your doing good! There's a clause in the Cali. law that allows for an exemption of firearms that are "older" than fifty (50) years.
Now if the firearm in question is newer than 50 years and it's not in the firearms roster, you are S.O.L. NO FFL is allowed to sell or transferit into the state! :(

Good luck!

No M27-2 is 50 years old. The first ones came out around 1960 so the age would be in the mid 40s at the best. That means you can't have the revolver shipped into California. Sorry bud.

my .45 will have to do, for now!

even though the S & W was being given to me, i guess i just have to let it go. i just wanted a 357 for my collection. to bad gas is so high, or i'd take a drive.

To bad it's not on the "list". The 27 (and it's cousin the 28) is a fine gun. Mybe it's time for little vacation to Washington?

re: 27-2

i've already planed the drive. i needed to visit anyway. i quess i do want it bad enough to say it's worth it. thanks for all the advice.

I may not be as up on Federal law as others here but isn't it some kind of vioaltion to "give" a gun as a gift across state lines? I was told some years ago I couldn't just give a gun to my sister who lived in a neighboring state, it had to go through an FFL, which in this case would also mean California's stupid restrictions.

Just asking for a point of clarification.
Dave

Receiving a handgun outside of your state of residence and transporting it home is a federal felony. Few guns are worth five years.

However if the gun is a family heirloom being passed from a parent or grand parent there is a "Grandfather" clause to the law. It does not work side ways like from a brother or sister to another brother or sister, just up and down from a parent/grandparent to child or from child to parent. Thats here in CA anyway do'n't know how it works in other states with them G-father laws.

Don't know if the G-father clause applies to firearms coming in from out of state though. :)

Cali, why bother living there if you want to shoot

Just outa curiosity, why is a revolver illegal in cali? I can understand their communist ideas about certian firearms, but why a revolver (low capacity, safe as hell)?

Abelew,
Here in Cali. firearm manufacturers have to submit firearms for state testing, before they can be sold in the state. If the firearm in question has not been tested and added to the State Roster of Firearms allowed for sale in the state it can not be sold in the state. Older firearms no longer in production or custom firearms are not added to the roster, because every variation would have to be accounted for $$$$$$$!

Some exeptions would be consignment sales, private party transfers, firearms older than fifty(50) years, some single action revolvers, firearm being recovered from a pawn-shop by the original owner and firearm that were willed to someone(already have posession).

GOOD LORD, WE ARE SCREWED!!

We may have lost kommifornia, but we still need to fight for everywhere else. I vote we excommunicate kommifornia from the union, and nuke it
:D :D

One solution would be to move slightly east to Arizona.
Then, everything would be hunky dory!!!

I'm not sure if one revolver would be worth it!!
But, in the long run, living in freedom is always worth it!! ;)

You can own class III weapons here in AZ!!! (prod prod) :D

I agree, it's more about the principal of the matter, then the actual problem that was brought up. I shot competition (rifle), but knew many pistol shooters. Some of them shot rapid fire, with .32 automatics, with the magazine in front of the pistol grip, for, oh my god, more weight at the front of the gun to help control muzzle rise. If you are at all familiar with kommifornia law, thats an "assult weapon." Not to mention they are specially designed for competition, and while as all firearms are, dangerous, they are so use-specific and cost prohibitive for use in commission of a crime. Yet another example of lawyers and special interest groups making decisions based on making money.

It cannot be done unless you are selling it to a dealer or a Law Enforcement Officer. The dealer, in turn, cannot sell it to anyone in the state (except another dealer).

It's a 27-2. It is not 50 years old. If it were 50 years old then it would be curio and relic. They have a different standard.
