Second, you provide no resources to back up your claim, which is 1) the foundation for a poor argument (equivalent to gossip) and 2) very inconsiderate for your readers, who want to join in conversation.

These articles offer nothing but a single county Sheriff's opinion, which, while the opinion is shared by many, including members of this forum, does not include any official policy statements by the ICPA, just Sherrif Clarke. Yes, they endorsed a universal background check proposal, but that is nothing new for the ICPA. Ther Sheriff in question, Sheriff Clarke, also appears to be very good at making some rather inflamatory statements on his own, which does not lend him credibility in my opinion.
