Shepherd scope question

I just picked up a rifle with a Shepherd 2.5-7.5x40 scope. This is my first experience with the Shepherd scopes. I have been trying to find a manual or some instructions on how to best use this dual reticle system. Can anyone help me out?

Basically the plain reticule is for aiming & zeroing @ 100yds. Then you dial the fancy one with all the aiming drop circles to match it.
