sheeple

A lady named Becky there, who doesn't like guns, is looking for info on safe gun handling.

While there have been some good answers, here's a chance to perhaps defuse a potential anti. Maybe some of you folks in ER could help her out.

Here's her statement:

"I was in a rather unenviable situation two days ago. This guy was brought to the ER, shot dead (really dead.) The techs are getting the body ready to go to the morgue and call me over. There is a gun in his pants. Now, usually, the police are at the ER faster than flies to poop when there is a fatal/near-fatal shooting. This time, they weren't (they arrived 15 minutes later.) So for 15 minutes I am the unhappy guardian of a gun in a specimen bag.
Here's my problem: being a good pacifist-type I know *NOTHING* about guns. So, what I want is information about how they work, how to take the bullets out, how to make sure the safety is on, etc. I look in the bookstore and on the internet and all I find are NRA/Guns-n-Ammo/Sportsman type information sources.

What I really want is a short treatise on guns for people who really *really* don't like guns. Does such a thing exist, and where would I find it?

Becky"

I actually like Michael Moore if for no other reason than he appears to be intellectually honest. He doesn't make any pretense of being anything but a Socialist and he argues from that ideology. Much more honest than these pinkos who pretend to have some agenda other than Socialism in mind when really they're dyed in the wool Bolsheviks (Feinstein, Schumer, Clinton(s)).

Well, I jumped in and immediately ripped into one of the board's self-described "gun nuts." I couldn't help it, he was a complete idiot. Take a look and you'll see what I mean... (And you'll know which one I mean as soon as you read it.) Maybe I'll be banned. Oooops.

What a MORON!!! I got my two cents in. That guy was giving us all a bad name with his three "simplistic rules" on how to kill people. What an idiot, she's probably more anti-gun now after reading his stupid post.

Glad it wasn't just me, especially after I jumped on him with both feet. He strikes me as the sort that has one of those t-shirts that says, "Kill 'em all. Let God sort 'em out."

As far as poppin jay's slippery slope argument, why do most socialist-linberals not want the 10 commandments posted in school or allow school prayer. There are two opposition schools, one is we must be PC and not offend any non-christians. The other school is that it will lead to state sponsored religion. I think that is a slippery slope argument more invalid than HCI's.

I think that Pop is shooting his philosophy in the foot. Guns do have a cool factor. To be against them is never to have handled them (in some cases). If everybody is required to know basic skills would mean handling them and realizing that society has real ills that all of this energy needs to be spent on.

Guys, come on. The gun nut? The guy with the rules on how to kill people? TROLL. Not a very subtle one either. He's laughing somewhere.

Just an anti trolling and making an attempt at satire.

The t-shirt I'm thinking of is usually associated with Special Forces, although I know of no SF personnel that would wear one.
It's actually a paraphrase of a remark made by a medieval crusader who is reported to have said, when confronted with a town they were about to attack that had X number of Christians in it, and how were they to tell the Christians and heathens apart, that his troops should, "Kill all of them. God will know His own."
