Shameless showing off...

My wife and I have been cooped up in the house for the last week or so, so today we decided to go out for a while. Naturally, we stopped by "Ali-Babba's House O Guns" for a visit.

She spotted someone with a dog, and took off to visit. I was left alone at the used gun counter, where I always seem to get in trouble. Then I saw one of those dreaded sights that I "hate" to see.

Uh-Oh. This could get ugly.

Inside the box was this. A 1948, 5 screw K-22 with a 6" barrel. No papers, other than the tissue paper the gun was wrapped in. The grips number to the gun as does the box. It's been fired, but is in excellent shape.

My wife walks up. "Is that a nice one?....It is...Well get it if you want it. I tell her, "It's too expensive." She replies "Seen one for less lately? (She's heard that from me before.) I haggle with the guy...I walk away...I come back...we haggle some more.

Man! I hate this. I've been on a 22 spree lately and this is just the final straw. I might have to sell a couple of more mundane guns to make up for it.

Might....

Very nice Find, I am jealous both of your new revolver, and the fact your wife leaves you alone and with money at the used gun counter. My wife let's me look but not before she takes my wallet:( . Make sure to let us know how she shoots.

You know I hafta hate ya just a little,,,

You know I hafta hate ya just a little,,, ;)

Not because you scored a sweet handgun,,,
But because of your good fortune having an amenable wife.

So it's not really clear in your OP,,,
Didja buy that sweet revolver?

That's the only "hole" in my personal collection must-have list,,,
I have yet to obtain a 6" K-frame in rimfire or centerfire.

Sorry Arron. Yes, I bit the bullet and it followed me home. I knew it wouldn't be there long if I passed on it. I've been selling off most of my guns, but this one I knew was special. I'm sure I paid a premium for it but as my wife said, I haven't seen one like it for less lately and frankly don't expect to anytime soon.

I just took it down the hill behind the house and fired a few cylinders full of Remington Thunderduds that I had handy. It did a good job of punching holes in a can off the top of the trash bin. It's too cold to do much more right now.

LOL!
Great line!

Nice job on both getting a great gun & a wife with a great sense of "style".

I saw you post this on the GBF. Very handsome. I have a nearly identical piece but a tan newer, not quite as nice and no box. But I got it for a really good price.
Really nice guns to shootm

Hey . .. . sometimes a person just has to "toot their own horn"! I think you should do that on this one . . . very nice! Congrats on you find . . . both your wife and the Smith! :D
