Just thought I would check and see.. if you had any thoughts on the proper time to set your feeders.

I am setting mine about 30 min. after day break.... and 1 hour before dark.

sound good? just wanted to see....

I had some similar settings about 4 years ago....and missed out on a really nice 8-pointer....there was a big group of about 6 does and yearlings with a nice 8-pointer and while waiting for most eyes to be turned away form me so I could raise my bow for a shot...the feeder goes off.....and they all scatter.....so after that I set them for noon and midnight....enough for dawn and dusk......but that's just me.....

I have found that the deer know at the end of the day and beginning, that the sound of the feeder is candy. I have a couple of feeders on my place and one has a GEO timer. I automatically calculates and dispenses following the day through the year. IF the feeder goes off and they are there, it is flight of fright instinct, but they will 98% of the time come back. Be patient!! Hey, it is free candy dispensing machine. Just my experience.

My feeders are set manually to dispense at 15 minutes before sunset. Used the automatic feeders for years but found that the morning feeding was mostly lost to jays, crows and coons.
