Serious question about holsters

I am trying to design some type of display wall for holsters. My thought is to use something like pegboard and attach holsters to the pegboard in some fashion so I can pull them down for use as needed.

As of now I have maybe 75-100 different holsters for various types of guns. They range from the budget model to the extremely outrageous priced models but I have been in a few trials where the holster maker and functionality were brought in so I had to have one to be familar with.

Does anyone have an idea of how I could make such a display board or how to fasten the holsters to the board? The space I have available is 10 feet by 7.5 feet.

I once saw a display a collector had for holsters, but he had other methods for holsters and gun belts.

For the holsters, he made up aluminum strips that would slip through the belt loops on the holsters. These strips were fastened to pegboard on one end, leaving the other end open so the holsters could be slipped on.
These were mounted horizontally to the peg board and acted like long sideways hooks.

For most belts and shoulder holsters he used ordinary hooks that the buckle or shoulder harness would hang from.

Another collector used the same basic idea, only his hooks were just peg board rods that stuck straight out. The holsters belt loops were slipped over the rods and were held sideways to the board. The holsters side welt areas were facing you as you viewed the board.
This allowed him to mount more holsters in the same area, but they weren't displayed full view since all you saw was the edge of the holster.

The aluminum strip sounds like a good idea. Do you plan to display all the holsters? Putting 100 of them up in a 75 square foot area may look like a jumble no matter how you do it. I suggest you mark off a 10 by 7.5 ft rectangle on a floor so you can plan the "look" of your wall by laying the holsters out the way you'd like to display them.

Keep coming with ideas.

There may be some misunderstanding though.

This will be a display effect on the wall of my gun room but it will be to hold the various holsters I may use at times. Right now, I have them in two #3 washtubs that are stacked on top of each other. I do not know what all is there and likely have duplicates of some since I do not remember what I ate last night so remembering what I bought 30 yrs ago is totally out. I went through the tubs last week when I wanted to find a holster for a S&W 36 snubbie I would be wearing that evening. It took about an hour to find it and another hour to put all the stuff back. I want it where I can walk in and take one down to use. At my age, I am not real sure how many hours I have left in life to search for anything.

How about velcro strips where the hook sides were on the pegboard with the adhesive and the loop strips were on the back of the holsters. Only take about a 1" strip on the holster and would only be in the way on an IWB holster. Put those on a strip with the loop or hook latched on to the board.

I don't mean to be snippy with the link, but it seemed the best way to post this. I was just wondering if a shoe organizer some women use in their closets might work.

Variety is the spice of life

Just a thought... it might be helpful to use a couple of different methods. I'm sure there are some nice holsters that would work best easily accessed, but also some duplicates or cheap holsters that could just be sorted into bins or wire baskets hanging on the pegboard. This could help separate them by cal. or type.

This worked well when we organized the pegboard in our garage. Another note... big paper clips make good strong ties that work well tied or hung on a pegboard. This can be a big help especially if the job is on a budget.

I really am attracted to this shoe rack. Maybe I best visit the home stores.

As to how neat or presentable this has to look does not matter. Only those that know me well will ever see it. I do not let casual visitors enter my gun room.

Anyhow this thread has motivated to get my pile of holsters off my bed,not so sure with route ill use yet as there has been a couple good suggestions.

Personally i like a "chip clip" or Clothspin route so i can clip each holster and it should take less space than most options.
You would think some holster maker out there would have thought of this before.

I only own 5 guns for ccw and yet i have possibly 12 holsters for them,i can only imagine how many people with large collections have.

I was traveling this summer, and saw a great idea for displaying pocket knives that may work for you.

Take a good piece of pegboard, get yourself a bunch of zip ties of proper thichness to fit through the holes in the board.

Loop the zip ties through the belt loops and the peg board, around the belt clips, whatever you can come up with to display each holster. They are neat, easily removed without damaging or altering the holster, and if you mess up a few ties its not a major loss.
