Hello All!
I have a chance to buy a Series 70 Colt Gold Cup. The gun is new in the box condition and has all papers and even the box with it. Asking price is 625. Is this a fair price? Let me know what you think and please don't debate 1911 v. Glock v HK v. etc:) Thanks

A fair price? Not really. But, tell me, just out of curiosity you understand, where is it located there in West, BY God, Virginia?

Ok, ok, stop twisting my arm! That's an excellent price. It's worth several hundred more than that if it is as described.

It's actually a private sale from a friend who I've known for 11 years. I thought it was a good price but just wanted verification.
You Know, spending money on myself around X-mas time. It is a beautiful piece. Until then I was considering a CZ 75 with 5 hi-cap
mags, at a dealer, for 450.

Right up the road in Martinsburg. The CZ 75 is at a place in Hancock, MD. Hendershots-ever been there?

GET IT now before your friend has a chance to change his mind!

I just picked up a 70 Series Gold Cup (yesterday) in 98% w/o the box for $700.00 and I walked out of the store with a BIG grin on my face. The book on my gun is $895.00 and you can usually expect the people around here to add on another $100.00 to that.

If I remember correctly, the book for one NIB is $1295.00. As gunny6 said, take that friend out, but make it more than beer and pizza!:D

I also just got my second 70 series Gold Cup(98%) for $750 and I was very happy with the price. Normally they go for $900 to $1000 around here.

Great price on a great gun, I wish that I had bought one back when they were being made. Instead I bought a stainless steel Randall that is just like the Gold Cup with adjustable Millet sights.

Got my Series 70 mint from a buddy in 1992.........$325 with 20 boxes of Winchester Super Match ammo. Best deal I ever made.
