Serialnumber Winchester Comanche.

Hello, i'm ChiefS from Belgium and have a question regarding the serialnumber on my Winchester Comanche model 1894. This starts with CC...., if i search on the web i can't find any information regarding the year of manufacturing. On the official Winchester site you can only give in the numbers and no letters, is this the same or is there a difference?
Grtz. ChiefS

Winchester made a LOT of commemoratives, special fancy limited production versions of their standard 94s. In UNFIRED condition with box and all papers they are worth a fair bit of money, to commemorative collectors.

USED, even once, or with incomplete accessories, they're only worth a little more than a standard plain gun, if that. Sometimes they are worth even less, used, than a rare "plain" variant.

people who want a "working gun" won't want to pay any premium for a fancy commemorative model, and the people who collect them want them complete and pristine, as close as possible to the way they left the factory floor.

Anything less than that, any wear, handling or use, missing papers, damaged box, etc., anything like that drops their value by a huge percentage, to a collector.

Ok, iff i'm correct the letters only stands for Comanche and has nothing to do with the ser#, it is build in 1894.
The gun is in the family for many decades so it has more emotional value to me and hopefully will never be sold. It has some users dammage but still looks fine.

Thanks!

"...USED, even once..." Only collectable if they're stilled sealed in the box with all the original paperwork. And you'd still have to find somebody who wants it.
Winchester Commemoratives were a colossal failure as an investment. Too many of each made and they're just a gussied up Win 94.
The Winchester Collector's site is your friend. Comanche's were 1975's edition.
