Sent my wish list to Ruger

I sent a message to the CEO of Ruger informing him of my desire to own a Stainless full sized Blackhawk in .45 Colt and or a single action in .454 Casull. I'm in no hurry, as long as I have them in my hands by July 4th.

That's a good idea. I often wonder if the top brass, R&D, or marketing guys ever surf our forums. They really should.

If they check here, I'll suggest three options in .32 that might actually sell. In case they don't, I'll pass it on directly.

1. A six-shot LCR in .32 H&R Magnum. After all, Ruger already makes higher capacity LCRs in the weaker .22 LR and .22 WMR. The .32 H&R keeps the capacity advantage and actually rivals the .38 special in terms of power, all with lower recoil. (Smith and Wesson did this on a J-Frame and even used with wear, they are still going for $500-$600 in current auctions.)

2. A 4" SP101 in .327 Federal Magnum. The initial offering was a little short for this round in my opinion. This round gains nicely on an extra inch and should handle better. Perhaps it was the .327 being marketed heavily as a self-defense round that helped manufacturers select barrel lengths but such marketing also pigeon-holed an impressive new round that still hasn't reached its potential.

3. A 6" GP100 in .327 Federal Magnum. Following from number 2 above, the hefty 7-shot GP100 currently produced in .327 Federal Magnum occupies interesting territory. It's pretty heavy for concealed carry. So is it duty carry? At that size and weight, you can get 7 .357s in a 686+. We need something to make this one special. Give this gun a home. Put it in a 6" barrel and let it shine.

POINDEXTER... feel free to send them a picture of mine ;)

it is possible... though I'd expect they would not want to remove the built in mount for the extractor like I did on mine...

I sent a request to them once, and a free hat came in the mail a few days later. Still don't see them making the gun I wanted though.

I didn't know the discontinued the 5.5" Redhawk. Bought mine a couple years ago and it's mean really nice.

I would like a Gunsite Rifle in 30-06

- Single Six in .327 - both adjustable "mini Blackhawk" style and Vaquerito. Multiple barrel lengths unlike the previous .32 Vaquerito run of mostly just one.
- Normalize (catalog) the .44 Special into the New Vaquero line up, instead of just limited distributor specials.
- Give an improved "CCH" treatment another try for the SAs (NVs, Blackahwk/Flattop, and SS's). If need be, outsource pre-final assembly frames to the likes of Turnbull or Harton's guy (etc) and make it available as an option (for both New Vaquero and Blackhawk lines--but especially "needed" to spiff up the fixed sight guns...perhaps do it at a $50 premium. Bet they'd sell a bunch of 'em.
- +1 on a .32__ Mag LCR.
- Midframe SA .32-20/.327 convertibles at least as distributor special
- Midframe SA ..38-40/.40 convertibles at least as distributor special.

Yes, I do think they scan the forums, especially the Ruger forums, and there is a "tell the CEO" link in their website...and actually occasionally/eventually act on some of the posters' ideas. The eventual chambering of the .44 Special I think was one such result - though that did take quite some time didn't it?!

I want the 7.5" Redhawk in 45 Colt back in production, at least long enough for me to pick one up NIB. A ten shot GP100 in 22LR would be sweet too, and/or a 6" barreled version of the 22LR SP101. I also think a barrel rib on the Super Redhawk between the frame extension and the front sight would make it a much better looking gun.

I want a GP100 with fixed sights, 2.5" barrel, and chambered for .44spl.

A .44 GP would be to a SRH Alaskan what the SP is to the GP. Smaller frame, one less round. I think I like it.

Seeing as your all asking.
I would love a blued or Gray Redhawk with a 6"+ barrel and an unfluted cylinder in 357. I would also accept a 41 or 44 in the same configuration.

Tell them NOT to release the SP101 in a blued finish. I would go insane trying to get my hands on one.

And NO LEVER ACTIONS either!

I sure hope they listen to you instead of sales reports and market trends that usually keep companies in business.

You act as if there is a homogeneous class of "sales reports and market trends" that are universally reliable in the prediction of future success and that not listening to them in exclusion necessarily leads to business failure. This is clearly false. "Sales reports and market trends" are limited snapshots of previous circumstances and projections or extrapolations from those limited snapshots. That isn't to say that they aren't helpful. Just remember what the market is.

The market is composed of huge numbers of individual actors making individual decisions amidst a myriad of interrelated causal factors. Companies use what they know based on what they see in attempting to predict the future. They make decisions on whether and how to develop, introduce, and promote products based on those predictions. The actual result relies on the outcome of multiple actions across an unknowable myriad of future events.

Competitive innovation involves risk at each stage but also opens the door for development and profit. To think that the voluntarily offered data from the impressive collection of enthusiastic customers here is valueless compared to some canned reporting technique is itself valueless.

I have sent several for Ruger to bring back the Police Carbines but able to take the SR series mags instead of the P series. I would own one in both 9mm and 45 if they did.
