Thank you much. Attatched is the letter I sent to the VP. Agree or disagree, I just thought I'd share it with you. If ANYTHING at all, they would respond to gental guidance than all out bluntly hammering him.

Dear Mr. Vice President,

I congradulate you on a fine campaign and run for the white house. I also commend your desire to complete due process. I do urge you very strongly to bow out to GW Bush IF and ONLY IF he wins the re-count, and, if applicable the re-count by hand in Florida.

I can certainly understand your desire to assume the Presidency if you led in popular vote, and especially if some voters were confused in Florida. However, I do strongly urge you to think first of the Nation. It honestly matters not to me who ends up in the White House. If, however, this election is drawn through the court system, it will throw the country into sheer turmoil.

You know as well as I do that matters will only get worse if this matter is pursued in court. Though GW Bush is making plans for transition, I feel is only doing so to prepare for a smooth transition should this matter get ugly and last weeks or months. On the other hand, if this matter does go to court, you will open the flood gates to nit-pick every ballot accross the country. This is simlpy not possible and still maintain a Union as Americans.

If the people of the United States get all worked up over this (and indeed they are), and your campaign draws this out, and IF YOU LOOSE the election (not that you have as of yet, but it IS possible), then you WILL start a war in this country.

Riots are almost guaranteed in Florida, which will spark off riots around the country. I honestly fear it could come down to who the Amred Forces recognize as their Commander and Chief. No matter how much I would have liked either candidate to win, I would MUCH RATHER have the opposite candidate take the office than to deal with Marshall Law and brewing Civil War.

Mr. Gore, if you wait for a final, certified re-count to occure, and it does swing in the favor of GW Bush, you will have the opportunity to be a hero. If you stand up as a man of honor and character, and congradulate GW Bush on a victory, you WILL look like the man of impecable charater you claim to be. In addition, you will have a VERY good chance in the 2004 election. You will have prevented bloodshed, you will have "pursued a fair vote" then "upheald the result of such a vote". Additionally, you will have gained back a large portion of the American confidence in the Democratic party that was lost during the accusations of President Clinton.

I do thank you for your time and understanding.

Sincerely,

xxxxxx
