The following is a vebatim transcript of a speech given in December 2002 to a group of highly achieving high school students who were told that part of their "reward" for academic excellence was to be able to meet with, and talk to a sitting Senator of the United States.
In my estimation a cruel hoax was perpetrated on them when Senator Murray - quite possibly the most intellectually challenged Senator our beloved country has ever had - said the following:
"Osama Bin Laden has been very, very effective”
At being able to kill Americans for years and years with no reason to fear meaningful reprisal.
“ Um...He...We got to ask, 'Why is this man so popular around the world?”
Popular?!? No! What we have to ask ourselves is, what the hell are you talking about?
“Why are people so supportive of him in...in many countries?”
If you mean the Wahabi death-cult-murder-bombers that plague certain pathetic parts of the world, then I would have to say that it is because for them, he is a death-cult nut’s dream come true. With his billions he can finance and make manifest, their most perverse homicidal fantasies. DUH!
“Well, he...uh...has been in many countries that are riddled with poverty.”
While devoting every single day of his life to making the lives of the people that live in those places a living hell. The people that live in those hellholes live their lives in almost exactly the same fashion as people that lived there 14 centuries ago. He and his thugs spent every available moment beating people into believing that they must continue to live as their 7th century barbarian ancestors did, or be stoned or whipped to death.
“Uh...People don't have homes, no sewers, no roads, no schools, no health care, no..Uh... facilities just to make sure that their daily lives were ok.”

“He's been out in these countries for decades building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day care facilities, building health care facilities and the people are extremely grateful.”
Schools = Madrassas = Terrorist prep schools
Roads: to his terrorist training camps.
Infrastructure: his training camps.
Day care facilities: in places where women that work outside the home are beaten. Repeated offenses earn them an agonizing death.
Health care facilities: In places where women are forbidden to be physicians and females are forbidden to be examined by male doctors. By the way, if he built all of these health care facilities of which you speak, why then did he always have to travel to places like Pakistan for his own health care? Hmmmm?!?
“And the people are extremely grateful”
Or they were dead. That would also go a long way to explain why they danced madly in the streets once Osama and his vermin where hunted down like rats.
“He's made their life better.”
If convincing people to commit suicide in the commission of senseless murder is “better”, then I can say unequivocally, that I don’t want to hear what you think is worse.
“Uh... We have not done that. We haven't been out in any of these countries helping them build their infrastructure."
Senator Murray, in case you missed God’s little punctuation mark to your comments, let me remind you that 3 American humanitarians where killed in Yemen by one of Bin Laden’s followers just a few days after your moronic statements. You might also try talking to some of your contemporaries in that large building that you work in, in the other Washington. The folks with IQs above room temperature will be able to tell you that the United States of America gives more aid to foreign countries (including Uncle Osama’s haunts) than any other single country on EARTH!
Senator Daschle seemed to think that the Democrats didn’t “get their message out”. On the contrary, most of America heard you, loud and clear.
