Yea, but Senator Kay is retiring and being replaced by in-coming Senator Elect Ted Cruz. I haven't seen any comments from the Senator Elect, but he had a high NRA rating during the election. Time will tell if he has bent to the wind.

He organized one of our briefs in support of our side leading into the Heller case. Cruz is solidly in our camp.

Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison has always been a bit suspect, in my opinion, when it come to 2nd Amendment issues. I voted for her twice for Senator, but it was mostly just a case of "lesser of the two evils".

I think her lack of enthusiasm on 2A issues is what led to her downfall against Rick Perry in the last Texas republican gubernatorial primary.

I know her successor, Ted Cruz, is a strong 2A supporter. And every little bit helps.

I voted for Cruz and did not know that. I've never felt too comfortable with KBH so it's not surprising that she's starting to twist a bit in the wind.

Now to see if she challenges Rick Perry for the Governor's office as some have speculated.

Never discount the influence money has on any politician. They really don't care what we the people think about anything. They will tell you whatever they think you want to hear. The number of politicians that have jumped ship since Newtown makes this pretty clear.

You realize she got drubbed by him in the 2010 primary, right? I seriously doubt that she'd be willing to go another round.

I suspect that the reason for this revelation is that she's preparing to retire into a quiet elder stateswoman role in which she doesn't have to worry about campaigning anymore.

She doesn't have to worry now about what her constituents think so she can show here true colors. Maybe Obama will appoint her as an ambassador somewhere really nice. Maybe Libya.
