Senator Feinstein has published her assault weapons bill her website.
http://www.feinstein.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/assault-weapons.
This is similar to most of past legislation with a new twist.
The grandfather clause will require all guns with the capability of holding more than 10 rounds must be registered under the NFA.
Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include:
Background check of owner and any transferee;
Type and serial number of the firearm;
Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law; and
Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration.
I have already written my Senator expressing my opposition.
I included a practical defense of 30 round mag for my AR-15 clone.
Specifically, I discussed driving off a pack of wild dogs which were attacking a cow and calf. The dog consisted of 25 dogs who had been dumped by their owners and were killing live stock to survive. I expended a full mag, killed a number and finally drove the dogs off.
When addressing this issue we need to speak factually and not emotionally. I think quotes from the recent Illinois decision would be appropriate.
Lets go on the offense with a rational argument and not an emotional one.
