Sen. Boxer Poll: We're LOSING!!!

We're still losing, and I think we will continue to do so if Sen Boxer has anything to do with it. There are no vote totals, just percentages, which leads me to believe that they are being manipulated and the staffer that does it can't be bothered to use a calculator.

Question 4: "Direct the Federal Trade Commission to study how the gun industry markets firearms to children. Agree, Disagree, No opinion."

Notice that? Not, "Whether", but "how"!

Ummmmm I thought that was already illegal? What a DUMB question! I also thought that most guns were already sold with a trigger lock. Do these people know ANYTHING or is their head stuck that deep in the sand?

I agree with Eric. This "poll" is a fraud. "Updated once a day?" Get real. With today's software, the only reason for not having instantaneous calucation and display of results is to allow time to manipulate and manufacture data.

I voted anyway.

I note on reading Sen. Boxer's web page that she offers only a single method by which one may e-mail her, and no addy for a direct connection without using the 'correct' browser/ISP.
I also see that she is candid in admitting that she will disregard all imput except those who can vote for her.
I therefore am unable to conveniently inform her that her proctologist called, and asked me to tell her that her head has been located.

No ma'am. Their head's stuck somewhere else and it'll be a lot harder to extricate.

Senator Boxer...

I find it highly disgusting that in your polls on Gun Legislation from your website, you would include a poll regarding the "Ban of Assault Weapons to Juvinelle's"

In case you were unaware, It has been against the law for decades for juvinelles to buy any weapon, "assault" or otherwise.

What is the purpose of this question, to frighten uneducated people by causing them to think that it is currently allowed under the law?

The same would apply to High Capacity, this was addressed in the 1994 ban, and in California by the 1999 ban. It is currently illegal to import High Capacity magazines into this country manufactured after September, 1994, and into the State of California after January 1, 2000.

Again, are we trying to instill fear by intentionally implying that it is legal to do so today.

I encourage you and your collegues to press for methods to enforce the over abundance of laws in existence. There have clearly been more laws passed that continue to go unenforced, and unprosecuted than you have apparently been able to keep track of.

I suggest that rather than trying to find new ways to package these proposals, you work towards ensuring that our laws in place since the beginnings of our fine country be enforced, and I encourage you to start with the Constitution, and specifically with the Bill of Rights that you swore to protect and defend.

As a law abiding citizen, and military Veteran of this country, my rights have been infringed. I know you disagree with this unfortunately, but regardless of how you define the word "Militia", or interpret "States" rights, versus "Personal" rights, the bottom line is that the same "People" protected in each ammendment under the Bill of Rights, are also the same "People" under the Second. This ammendment was not written to protect "States" rights, and the "Bill of Rights" completely addresses "Personal" and not "States" rights.

I can assure you that when you next seek re-election, you will not be my candidate, as you have failed to represent me, my family, and the Country I fought to defend. Should your position change, I may re-evaluate this decision, but trust me, you have failed miserably in your Oath of Office, and I would go even farther in saying you have failed in your Duty, to God, and Country.

Sincerely,

My Full Name
A California Voter

I sent the following to Boxer and received the same canned response as jaydee.

Although I have most heavily favored the tenets of the Democratic party in past elections, I am extremely disheartened by the bigotry, dishonesty and political opportunism displayed by the Democratic party in the matter of firearms legislation. I will be voting almost straight Republican this year on the basis of this single issue.

Many of the laws being proposed under the titles of 'gun safety' and 'gun control' and mentioned in your poll are redundant or do not clearly lead to the expressed effect.

Proposing redundant laws or laws which have no logical link to cause and effect are political puffery with which I totally disagree. These defamitory laws are based on an inexcusable bigotry, showing disregard for the positive practices of gun manufacturers and recreational shooters.

Some examples:

Having the govenment inspect marketing of guns is redundant because the Federal government currently controls all steps of sales of firearms. The Federal government licenses dealers and approves end users through background checks. The gun manufacturers sell only to Federally approved clients.

Gun sales to juveniles are already restricted.

Mandating trigger locks is redundant as firearms manufacturers have been providing trigger locks, internal locks and/or lockable boxes for years.

Beyond this, though, personal responsibility the the only real solution. You can put only so many pillows on the world to protect people from their irresponsible actions. In doing so, you prevent those people from learning and growing. We must demand personal responsibility.

They rejected my vote (go figure). Must be because I don't live in the PRK. I always thought she was a *US Senator* (from California)
If my opinon doesn't count with her because I don't reside in PRK, then her votes shouldn't affect me in any way, correct? ;)

Hey, it's NAZI dejavue!
I'm glad I'm not one of her SUBJECTS!!!
