Semi Specialized Revolver CC Holster???

Hi all
I have been carrying snub noses as my CCW for a while now and I cant seem to find a holster for a printing problem I have. My current CCW is a charter arms undercover. I use a Nemesis in the pocket holster or a uncle mikes. The main problem I have with them is they disperse the print of the main body of the revolver but not the J shape of the grips. Does anyone know of a in the pocket holster that covers or uniforms the whole revolver completely? Im just too afraid that a focused or trained eye can catch a handle going into a square in my pocket as being a holstered firearm.

I also alternate between Uncle Mike's and a Nemesis pocket holster.

I use the Uncle Mike's for smaller pockets and the Nemesis for wider - it keeps the revolver positioned upright although the edge of the wide slab of synthetic material prints. I used to be worried about the holster itself printing when I first started carrying several years ago.

I have seen some leather pocket holster designs where the outside surface of the leather is flat and only the surface facing you is contoured. The synthetic version would be the Desantis Superfly - but I've heard the extra panel itself is bulky.

I am not certain if the Superfly covers the grip of the revolver. I've never had the grip itself print. Your pants may be tighter than what is optimal for pocket carry. If that's the case I'd recommend a trip to the thrift store.

If a holster covers the grip and it's a tight fit, how would someone draw it? When we need our gun, we need it in a hurry.

I'd also recommend doing your own modifications. You're allowed to modify/work on your holsters you know. They have a bit less resale value (no one really wants them...too personal?) than the gun itself. I've seen some people glue/sew old credit cards or similar to the outside of these fluffy pocket holsters to break up outlines. If it's near the grip you might want something that could give a bit more.

Oh i forgot to mention the paranoia we all start out feeling when carrying.

As new as this whole concealed carry thing was for each of us - that's how foreign the idea is for most people still. And who are those with the trained eye? Police perhaps, security, bodyguards, other CC'ers - but i certainly don't go around staring at people's pockets and waistbands or ankles.

That leaves the crooks - is that what you're thinking about? While it's possible they might look at people in that much detail, it's good to remember too that when we're out and about we're usually in motion. And that there are other visual distractions at hand like a T shirt moving around, cell phone holster, key chains, wallet in the other pocket (my pocket carry looks like I have a wallet or PDA in both pockets in tighter pants). This is my opinion but only tight pants and a tight shirt but big bulge in a single pocket would really stand out.

And it's not against the law to print. Only to brandish.

I've tried all kinds of pocket holsters and I found everyone of them to be too bulky in the pocket. I don't pocket carry very often these days unless I'm wearing baggy shorts or a coat. With the right holster it was not gun shaped bulk but it still bothered me. There are 3 pocket holsters that I use on the rare occasion I do pocket carry.


The Mike pocket holster is well made, stays in the pocket and breaks up outline of the gun completely. I would highly recommend one

This is a no-name eBay bought pocket holster. I wish I could remember the eBay sellers name because it's one of the best I've ever owned. No other holster I've owned is so thin but still manages to break up the outline.

The last is the one you own, the nemesis and it's easily the most bulky of the three. I've never really had a problem with the outline (although I agree it's more pronounced with the nemesis) I guess I just don't think that many people are looking in that direction. I've found the best way to deal with the bulk is not to pocket carry at all. I've gone to belt carry and haven't looked back..
