Semi-Auto barrel question #2 (pic)

When looking down the muzzle end of my Sig 229 .40S&w I notice that the barrel appears to have a larger gap between the top of the barrel and slide, as compared to the bottom of the barrel and slide.

The barrel is perfectly centered in my Beretta 92FS and Gock 19c. Is this normal for the Sig barrel? The gun seems to work fine.

Normal. There is usually a fairly large amount of play between the front of the barrel and the front of the slide in a semi-auto handgun.

Depending on various things, the barrel may be centered, or off in one direction or another. Don't worry about it.

John's 2 for 2 tonight. :)

Yep, it's absolutely normal.

Once again, calling on my new Witness 10mm, it has this same characteristic.

What you're seeing is clearance that gives the barrel enough room to tilt down and unlock. This is clearance is apparent on some guns and not on others. My Witness and Kahr look just like your picture.
