What's the latest on S&B primers, Other then Cabela's who else carried them? Would love to stock on them again they worked great in every thing I tried them in.

Gone and over. Other forums posted the factory burned down. Every site I’ve checked is out, and no backorders accepted. Glad that I grabbed 5k small rifle when Cabela’s cleared them out. I also have about 700 large pistol remaining. There appears to be a new player on the scene...Unis Ginex...on clearance at grafs.com. They’re from Bosnia-Herzegovina. Also no backorders accepted.

They were a few $$ cheaper than other brands, and worked well. I use them, or will until I run out in one load that was noticeably better with the S&B's over CCI or FED or WINC. Sometimes high $$ does not always work.

Found the same thing! Use CCI, Federal , Remington and Winchester but found that S&B with some powders and bullet combo's turned in better results.

What's so good about them that you would prefer them over another brand?

Because for 98% of reloading primers are primers, and any one is as good as another.
The money saved is why most people reload, contrary to the idiotic saying that it won't because you'll shoot more.
Makes a big difference at 22 bucks per 1000 over what is typical right now.

Would never turn down a price like that, but on clearance, my best price for S&B primers was $28. It’s looking like $32/1000 is here to stay...at least I hope so. Seeing too many vendors charging 20% higher than that.

Got a nice email back from S&B a little while ago saying that all primers produced were going into loading ammo for the market, nice lady did say primers may become available again going forward, I hope so! Loved the price and the groups from my better barrels don't lie.

Like other I first bought them for price until I found how well they worked in my Lee Pro1000. At one point I ran 3k large and small pistol primers thru the Pro1000 w/o a single mishap. The when I ran out and went back to Winchester primers I immediately had jams and tipped primers.

Yes. The S&B plant has had more than one explosion over the years, but it has never burned down and is still producing. The only plant I know of that burned down and wasn't rebuilt was the plant in Scotland that made the Brigadier line of stick powders for the Scot brand. They were good powders, and I wish they were still around.

As we've seen with domestic primers and bullets during shortages, the companies always give priority to ammunition production. It's where they make the most money. Handloading is a smaller market, so we take second place in line.

S&B is in Czech Republic

Unis Ginex primers are from Bosnia Hertzogevina

Different Companies, different Countries, different Primers.

I have both, in pistol, but have not used them yet.

I did just prime 100 45 ACP and I really like the way the UG primers look, seated fine, and seem deformation resistant. I primed new GBW 45 ACP brass that actually looked great on arrival, all round and shiny, no burs at all (on sale at Midsouth).

I do like the Tula 556M primers and use them for all 223/5.56.

I have never had any issues, nor heard of any issues with any European primers, other than S&B being hard to seat.
