Sell Ruger GP 100 to buy G27?

I have a SS 4" Ruger GP100 with a S&W front site on it and a great trigger job that sits in the safe and I don't really plan on using it anytime soon. I want to add another Glock 27 to the collection because I love my Glocks. I just worry if I am doing the right thingby getting rid of it or should I hang on to it. You never know what laws maybe put in place and with ammo, at least I could reload for it. Maybe hunting if I ever got into that.

But like I said I really am not a revolver guy.

What are your thoughts?????
 
Do you collect firearms or do you just like to shoot? If you like to shoot then get something else (since you don't use it now). If you like to have "extras" keep the GP100. Just got myself one and like it alot. Nice to have options:cool:

I wouldn't trade a GP to buy another Glock. Nothing wrong with Glocks mind you, have a Glock 22 myself, however, in my opinion a Glock doesn't compare to that revolver.

Now, if you don't shoot the GP, don't collect guns, and you have a chance to buy a gun that you'll actually use, why not?
 
I have a GP100, sits in the safe next to the XDs. Every time I shoot it I wonder why I dont shoot it more - its a great gun. Its interesting how I started with autos then added revolvers and now am more interested in revolvers - keep it, you might find yourself shooting it more in the future.
 
I have a G26 I like a lot, but I would keep my GP100 over it for sure.
The GP 100 is decent in almost any situation calling for a pistol, the G27 is very good n a limited number of situations(mainly CCW).
 
I don't have a GP100 but I have a Security-Six. As much as I love my Glocks I wouldn't part with a Ruger wheelgun for another Glock.
 
I'd keep that Ruger. I have 2 Glocks and love them both, but I also have a Ruger Redhawk that I'll probably never sell, even though I haven't shot it in ages. I wouldn't mind having a GP100 myself, as I consider it one of the finer handguns as far as .357s go.
 
EVERY gun owner should have at least one quality .357 double action revolver.

Simple (pull trigger BANG, if no bang, pull trigger again)
Flexible (use mild .38spl for practice, shot shells for snakes/rodents, full power .357 for self-defense)
 
I love Ruger DA wheel guns and have (3) GP models and (6) SPs BUT, Big BUT, if you don't shoot it and have no plans to, sell it by all means and get that Glock you want.

Plenty of people will love to get a nice GP!
 
I don't understand your wanting another Glock if you have one.

I have one and its all the Glock I need.

The only real world advantage a Glock has over a four inch stainless magnum is that it is more lightweight. Thats all.

Unless you plan on shooting it out with a squadron of heavily armed Al Quida terrorists, the magazine capacity is pretty much useless in the real world where most gunfights end after three rounds have been fired by both sides.

You can get into two gunfights a week with your Ruger before you have to reload.
