DUDE

Hi all, for the last month or two have been think of selling my Walther P99, and picking up a HK USP .45 Tactical. I have found a lot of good info on them on the HKPRO Forum, and most of the people there love them.
But i would like to know if any one here has one, and what do you think of it.

I have a HK USP .45 and love it great gun very accurate too. I have never owned a Walther but I would never get rid of my HK.

Good Luck

My only experience with Walthers have been with the PPK and PPK/s. Compared to that sample, hands down get that HK. There are very few guns out there I would put in the same league as the HK line of handguns. I recently sold my Sig 220 for a USP Expert. You won't be sorry getting that Tactical. ;)

I sold my HK USP .40 Full size and got a Walther P99 QA.

I did it more to get away from the DA/SA USP trigger to get the Walther quick action trigger.

That being said, get the gun that feels/shoots the best for you. Everyone is different. Nothing wrong with selling/trading guns till you get where you want to be.

First, let me say my Walther P99 is a personal favorite! That being said, I rented a HK USPc last week (because it's a great looking pistol) and found that its first DA trigger pull was incomparable to the P99s unique set-up SA/DA. Granted with practice, it'd become second nature but the P99's trigger has me completely won over.

Tiny issue: .45cal ammo is more expensive than 9mm.

Either way, I agree with adept and StephenT - keep your P99 AND buy a H&K Tactical!

I've got a 9mm USPc, as well as a 9mm P99. If I had to take a pick, I'd go with the Walther. However, I do love trying new things out. In answer to your question, if you're looking to try new things, I'd go with the HK. If you're looking to hold onto the best gun, stick with the P99.

Walther P99 versus H&K USP

Dude,

can you give us a specific reason why you want to sell your P99 (technical problems ? personal taste ?)

As for myself I'm very satisfied with my P99 military (the looks, the handling, the finish etc.) and a USP was my second choice when I decided to buy my P99 (two years ago). I think they're both top quality guns.

I own both plus around 10 other Walthers. I love both the P99 and the H&K Tactical. Both are different weapons though. One is what I would consider a medium large frame handgun that is great for duty or concealed carry, lots of fire power and a name that has been around since 1886.

The H&K is a full-on duty, assault, combat type semi-auto with a different manual of arms than the Walther. H&K has always been a favorite of mine too, but not to the extent of the Walther line.

And comparing a PPK or PPK/S to an H&K Tactical is comparing apples to oranges.

Get them both. :D

Well E.T. there is no real reason for me to sell My Walther, i have just been looking at a lot of .45s and i found the the HK USP .45 Tacitcal fits me real good.
Well thank you all for the posting you reply, i think for now i will stay with my P99, and maybe in a month or two ill get a .45-Tacitcal.

I traded a usp compact 40 in on a tactical and I am very pleased with it. The compact was a fine pistol but I wanted the full size for plinking and I allready have a compact for ccw. The tactical is easy to hit with and will shoot anything you put in it , Unlike some of those finicky 1911's I have had. If you get one , I beleive you will be happy with it!

I have both the P99 in 9MM and the HK Tactical. The Tactical is my choice of a better, more fun, gun to have. The P99 is more of a carry gun, although I would never trust my life to one. The Tactical (when purchased new) is life time warranteed. My P99 has not proven to be as dependable as my HKs.

I own a USP40f and have shot a S&W99 in.40 and P99 in 9mm. Unless you have money to spend and are bored with your P99, keep it. I REALLY like the way it fits my hand and I like the idea of the decocker with a striker fire.

I have owned USPs in 40 and 357, and just recently got a P99. I have to say that these are the 3 best handguns Ive owned. The USPs were accurate, functioned flawlessly and shot well. My only gripe with the HKs was the grip. It was too sharp and didnt fit well in my hand. Besides that, I had no complaints.
Ive only had my P99 for a few months but love it. The grip is awesome, and the gun shoots accuratly and flawlessly. Its definetely the #1 striker fired handgun out there.
Besides personal preferences, the HKs advantages are the lifetime warranty and the durability. Walthers got a better grip, the trigger is nicer and much quicker. I wouldnt sell the Walther, its equal to the HK and definetely worth keeping.
