Self-Install Trijicon's???

hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could offer any expert advice about installing trijicons on my new usp myself. I have moderate mechanical ability(can rebuild a 350 top end w/ eyes closed) and access to most any tool(cept a sight pusher, LOL). I have heard many different things about it but if anyone EXPERIENCED could offer me advice on exactly how to do it, what tools to use, etc. a step by step walkthrough would be awesome. i just don't wanna pay 30 bucks and be without my new baby for a week if it's not absolutely necessary.

Sites

They go out Left to Right. In from right to Left. Biggest prob is you have to be careful of breaking the glass tube in the site if you hit it to hard and then you have to buy another site the site press is the best and easiest way to do it.

I use a small nylon tipped punch, and stay away from the vials in the sights. Tap, tap, tap, tap it back out. Look at the marks on the sight and on the slide, touch the high spots with a file or stone and try again. Go LIGHT on the file and stone, the sights NEED to be tight. You should not need a BFH to get them in though, so taking the high spots off is how you avoid the BFH.

A sight pusher works well, you just push them in and out stoning/filing along the way using it instead of your nylon punch.

Dear Shooter:
We've put in thousands of Trijicons' at Novaks without ever breaking a vial! Some went in hard. The trijicon vial in the sight is installed by Trijicon, because they need to have a liscence to play with radioactive material. It is a gas, the gas inside a nuclear "bomb." I do not sleep with the Trijicons pointed towards my head while in bed (although I'm certain my wife might think it would do me good)!:D :D
