Seems to be a lot of sporting guns coming from Europe of late...

Is it me, or are there a lot of sporting shotguns and well, just a spattering of everything coming in from Europe of late?

Has something over there changed recently, or has this been in the making for some time?

Are the firms that are bringing them in getting them from government agencies over there (confiscated or turned in), or from privately owned firms such as gunshops/distributors who are inundated with "less desirable" pieces that they cannot move in their current environment?

I'm sure the strong U.S. Dollar has something to do with it. If I am right about that, the import surge should continue for a while. I would expect mostly private concerns are doing the selling on a weak Euro. Governments don't need to make a profit.

Some of it may have to do with the panic buying popping up over the last couple of years of all types of firearms. Then there's a stronger dollar...and the rising prices in the milsurp market. If you've got access to a market like the U.S., why not get as much of your product over here as you can while the market's good.
