Seems strange to me

I travel in my work, and have pretty much been all over our great country. But today, I noticed, and I cant really say why, but I did, a sign in a local Mo Walmart that informed you that if you did not live in a state that "touched" Mo, you could not purchase a shotgun or rifle! I questioned the clerk, and was told it was because they wanted to sell to locals only. I said only locals like Ark, La, Ok, etc? not some some foriegner from Texas huh? he said, yes he guessed so. Only in America!!

strange

Sounds Fouled Up to me. I have a love hate with wal mart , just about have to do my shopping there . They are to big and as the nations largest employer, they may be able to do just what they want.
I remember when they stopped selling pistols a few years past.

It's not a Wal Mart policy, it's federal law. They allow purchaces from contiguous states so people in borderline towns don't have to travel too much. But they restrict other states, supposedly to stop gun runners. Unless it has changed lately, that's only good for long guns, pistols are in-state only.
