I got a rifle from my grandfather and just passed it off as a nice lil .22 I found a few things online saying they can be worth some money. I wont sell it however id like to know more about what I have. Anyone know anything about them? according to the date codes I found this rifle was made jun 1929 and is decent shape for an old gun. the rifling is crisp and mirrored. I attached a photo of one that looks just like it. Thanks!

.

The Remington Model 24 is based on John Browning's Auto-22 (ATD) design, with exposed screws on the action that Brownings don't have.

Remington made some 131,000 Model 24's, in 5 different grades of finish, between 1922 & 1935.

The Model 24 was replaced by the Model 241, which had a few minor changes, and was made until 1949. I would use only standard velocity ammo in a Model 24.
