seeking info on a Mauser K98

I'm a newby to this site. I am looking for information on identifying a Mauser K98 rifle I own. Any direction as to where/how to find the right place on here to ask questions would be greatly appreciated. I also have pics...anxious awaiting a reply...Thanks: ronnie

There must be some kind of markings on it somewhere. Is it an old military rifle? Any crest on the receiver ring? Nazi eagle proof stamp? Pics would be a huge help...

markings

look all over reciever for markings and write them down,also look on bolt handle for any marking at all,when new part of reviever serial number was stamped on bolt handle, most now are mismatched,but some bolt handles have year stamped,hope its not a 1944 or 1945, weak steel, the russians pushed the germans back,and they lost supply of nickel ,mangenese,and tungsten and others needed to make high grade steel.
