Seeking: concealable .45 ACP w/o belt?

I am seeking recommendations for a .45 ACP semi-auto (or revolver) that would be concealable without a belt rig. This would be something possibly worn daily in an office environment (pants, tucked in shirt).

I currently use Smartcarry and think it is decent. I think the key for success for Smartcarry for my body type would be a thin gun. I'm not sure a full-size 1911 would work w/ my body type though, plus it's a bit bulky. I prefer having the gun in front of me, rather than behind.

Pocket carry has never worked for me so far. I assume it is my body type (average build, muscular legs). Even a J-frame prints badly, probably because of my thicker legs (even wearing loose pants).

Any suggestions?

Yep, a SigArms P245. Depending on your frame structure you
might even be able to conceal a .45 caliber P220 quite easily?
I have carried the P220 "Mexican style" for a number of years
now; cuz its flat and very comfortable.

IMO....

to my knowledge, no self-defender in .45 is smaller than the para 6.45. most are much, much larger.

it is a sweet gun, *awesome* DA trigger, highly accurate at self defense distances, and easy to return for a double tap.

3" barrel and single stack.

IMO, it defines "concealable" for a .45.

the model is pretty new and doesn't have the history of other guns, even other para guns.

seen some reports of a few problems and do believe that the QA from Para is mildly inconsistent compared to the best of them such as HK...but i suspect that the vast majority of para guns work well out of the box.

besides, it never hurts to have a good smith when dealing with almost any new 1911<g>

that said, i love the gun.

i carry slivertips and post some tweaking (including a mag problem) it has never failed to shoot 3-4 mags of them, and other rounds, every time i go to test it.

i now carry it every day......in a fanny pack.... and purposely don't clean or reoil it ever time i fire, just to be sure that it will work when suffering<g>.

IMO, there is not a better DA carry 45 than this thing..and even forgetting some folks' trepidation about SA locked and cocked (wouldn't bother me now in a holstered weapon, but other modes of carry such as a fanny pack, i don't think so), for that terrible time when one might have to use a weapon, and be sued, all other things being acceptable, i'd still rather be on the stand with a DA than a SA self-defender, so to speak.

i don't see why most would carry a smaller caliber piece than this as a primary, when the units that shoot anything above .32 are either the same size as this or bigger.

maybe you like it, maybe not.....but have a look.
