Can anyone give me any pointers?? I've got a Guardian and have no problems w that but the LWS is kickin' my butt.

Clear it. put an empty mag in. pull the slide back just enough to insert an empty case (or a fresh round if you don't have an empty), as if it were a "stovepipe", and let the slide slowly close on the case. Insert a punch in the hole on the side of the slide just above the base of the slide toward the rear. At the same time as you depress the plunger (probably a better term for it, but I can't think of one right now) through that hole, lift straight up on the rear of the slide. When the slide clears, it now moves straight forward off of the frame and barrel just as a Walther PPK, etc.

BloodyThumb got it right.

It's a little clumsy the first couple of times you do it, but you get better with practice.

(BloodyThumb--Reminds me of Military School and the "M1 thumb" someone would be forced to endure/suffer every now and then.
That bolt comes forward FAST! If any part of your thumb was still in the rifle during "inspection arms", POW!! You had a flat, split, bloody, god-awful looking digit! Believe me, I know!)

I smashed my thumb pretty severly under a car frame a few years ago during a rescue run. They patched it up and put a soft cast on it. For a week or so after that, every time I would pick up a piece of gear, I would leave a little spot of blood on whatever I touched. They started calling me ol' Bloody Thumb.

It was the first thing that came to mind when I needed a handle.
