Sedgley Baby Hammerless

Well maybe someone does, at least in part.
The trigger spring on the Sedgley Baby Hammerless is the same spring that serves as the hammer spring. It is a weirdly complex "mousetrap" type that can be made (yes, I have done it) but I don't recommend it unless you have a lot of time or a lot of bucks to spend.
The gun is listed in the Gun Parts Corp. catalog under Henry M. Kolb, who made the gun before Sedgley got into the act. They have the springs listed as "minimum quantity or no inventory". I would try them at http://www.gunpartscorp.com; I know of no other possible source.
The problem is that the guns are interesting, but of little value. In good condition, they only bring $80-100, and most are not in good condition. Broken parts are common, broken grips even more common. Worse, modern brass case .22 ammo will not work reliably, as those guns were made in the days of copper cases and have weak hammer strikes.

Interesting... I have the hammer spring, and it functions correctly, or so it seems. I suspect that the spring is just not installed correctly to return the trigger. FWIW, I had it apart to fix this problem, but couldn't see anything wrong. I cleaned it all up and put it back together, and it has the same problem. 
As far as condition, it's actually in very good condition, and the grips are mint. It appears to have no broken parts, though the hammer extension is a little beat up from idiots dry-firing it.

A couple of other possible sources that might be able to help are Western Gun Parts Ltd http://www.westerngunparts.com, Jack First Distributors http://www.1stingunparts.com and Wisner's http://www.gunpartsspecialist.com. I believe these addresses are still valid. Haven't used them in a while.
Check to see if the end of that spring that powers the trigger might be broken off. The thing looks from the side a bit like a sideways "Y" with the long part going down into the grip, one branch of the "Y" coming up behind the hammer and the other branch going forward to power the trigger.

Jim, I suspect that you have hit the nail on the head. I took the gun apart again, there is no extra "tang" on the spring to return the trigger. It should be interesting to find a spring like this...
You mentioned making a spring, but I guess I'm not enough of a machinist to attempt this. I can bend wire, but I can't figure out how I'd retain the temper of the spring...

Found your posting of 2001 while I was doing research on a baby hammerless.
Google patents # 1216001 for a combined rebounding, that will give you the patent diagram of the spring. mine is a mdl 1910 and is missing some parts, I would be interested in some pictures of the parts, and will share mine. I bought the book baby hammerless revolvers by frank m. sellers also and it is a pretty good source for identifying models.
