Security Six

I handled A Security Six at a pawn shop the other day. It had a 2 3/4 inch barrel was blued and original wood checkered grips. It had some very light rust which could likely be cleaned up. It was also missing the rear sight blade which I could order and replace. It still locks up well and felt pretty good. The asking price was $265 which seemed too high. What would be a fair counter offer for me to make?

It's a grear gun but, in that condition, the price is too high. I'd expect to pay that much for a stainless version, in really fine condition.

$265 is too high. I got one in similar condition last fall for $180. You can check Gunbroker and AuctionArms for price comparisons.

The prices on the Ruger "Six" series guns have been rising somewhat, as more and more people recognize they are VERY good guns that will last a lifetime, and they aren't made anymore.

like above, I bought one in a pawn shop with a 6inch barrel for 180 a year or so ago. I've been looking for one like you found for awhile now but that price is too high. Let us know how it turns out...
