Secretary of Army Nominee Says Citizens Should Be Armed As Well As Army

President Trump's nominee for the Secretary of the Army has not only supported the right of peacable citizens to own M16s; but to own warships even. While this is likely not going to have any direct impact on Second Amendment policy, it is nice to see an official who has a broad view of the Second Amendment. Perhaps that mindset regarding an armed citizenry will trickle down the ranks and encourage more emphasis on warfighting knowledge at all levels as well.

The deeply entrenched upper echelons of the Pentagon are mostly against the idea of armed citizens, and it's unlikely that a Secretary of the Army, who may be there for four or maybe eight years will make a dent in that.

He could, however, make a good start by requiring post commanders to allow soldiers to carry on base ,,,

I'm sure the General would love to give away the Navy !

Seriously, there's a bunch of vessels mothballed in San Francisco Bay, maybe we should sign up for a few of them.

As one of the most respected, honest and all-around good guys in Texas said when ask to take a government position, the sage replied "why would you put your your family through it?"

Nice to see a public figure express this view and also acknowledge the real reason of the 2a, has nothing to do with hunting, how politically incorrect can you get?
