ok like i said in my 10mm post got 390 for a new pistol.
looking for a semi-auto pistol. not a compact.
my choices are .45 acp
.357 sig
and 10mm
SA or DA/SA. comfortable, if in 1911 configuration must have palm swell.
more than 10 rounds is a plus.
night sights factory is a plus.

dont think i am asking to much here.
any suggestions?

thanks all.
morgan.

while u are burying your head in the sand i will be out doing something about the problem, excuse me if i tramp upon your skull.

A dealer here has Witnesses in 45 and .40 in stock for $279. You could probably order a 10mm for about the same. As far as I know not currently available in .357 SIG. CZ97 is another thought for .45, I understand their under $400, though I've never seen one.

If you're interested in the Witness 10mm, GunWorld has a review of one this month.

I'm not aware of anything in those calibers you will be able to get new for $390 with night sights. Maybe an EAA Witness.

I think the closest you will come is a Ruger P90. It is not exactly what you are looking for, but you should be able to get one for the price and it is an excellent gun.

You might find a CZ75 for that price. Possibly a Ruger. If you can spring for a bit more, maybe a used Glock 17.

You won't find a decent M1911 for that price.

Whoa, slow down, I think it's possible. Although I own a couple of witnesses, and shoot them regularly, if you're looking for a above average .45 in 1911 trim, take a close look at the charles daly line. Most all of them retail for right around $400 new, and good condition used ones go for much less than that. I've got one that came with ambidextrous extended safeties, an extended slide release, extended beavertail, along with the nicer trigger/hammer, etc. And all this was from the factory. Charles Daly is targeting these pistols towards the people who want a les baer, clark, etc., but have the same funding that I do. I've shot the much nicer, much costlier guns, and am very happy with my not as expensive alternative.
