seattle gun classifieds

Hi, I’m a newbie to guns. I was wondering which site has gun classifieds for the Seattle area where people can do a face to face sale like the classifieds in a newspaper. I’ve looked at gunsamerica.com but I can’t seem to narrow down the search to just the Seattle area. The seattle newspapers don’t seem to really have shotguns in their classifieds sections. Thanks for your time.

At the request of the Brady Bunch, many newspapers have taken the pledge not to list any firearms in their classified ads. Seattle may be one of those areas. In my area of southwestern Ohio we have local "trading papers" that appear once a week that list all sorts of stuff from animals to wagons. They usually include a small "sporting goods" section. You can find them at the local convenience stores. Best of luck and good shooting --

There isn't enough merchandise on that site to care about .....

Most serious collectors would not use classifieds to sell a gun / too many risks ......

If you're in the Seattle area - and a state resident - join the Washington Arms Collectors and then you can purchase a gun at the monthly gun shows in Puyallup or Monroe, WA. If you are not a member - you cannot purchase or sell a weapon at the show.

You will need a CCW permit / or a background check done to become a member.

If that doesn't work for you - then go see DJ's Loan and Sports in Bothell, WA - he has a good inventory on used and new guns / and can order virtually anything you want. They're good folks up there ...

I agree with the free paper ads. Here in Tn., you'll find lots of guns for sale in the free rags. Of course you have to deal with folks who think their scratched, scarred, rusted gun is worth the same as a new one. :D

Talk to Bruce - he'll be the guy in the wheelchair. Very knowledgeable, open and honest, excellent customer service, very nice guy. To avoid potential embarrassment, don't try to shake his hand - he can't. Patrons and staff are generally really friendly folks.

The WAC shows are OK, but it's best to know a lot about the type of firearm you're looking for and be good at haggling. Some starting prices can be a bit high, and some are just silly. And there is the occasional one who won't come down to a decent price and/or doesn't seem to know much about the item they're selling. There are good deals to be had but it takes patience.

In the future, for new firearms a great place is LowPriceGuns in Bellevue. They have a small to medium inventory in the store, but a huge selection online. Plus if you have it shipped to the store and pick it up there, no shipping nor transfer fee. Jason, the owner is a stand-up guy. Wades and Discount Guns are good places to look at guns but their prices are very high.

talked to a guy at the range

he recommended http://seattleguns.net/

He picked up a classic wheelgun, out of my area of interest so the model escapes me. But he was pretty pleased.

Many of the ads require a carry permit so the seller can feel he's not selling to a felon, but I bet you could meet at an FFL and go through the background check there.

seattleguns.net is an excellent site. I've done 4-5 trades or sales using the site and all have gone very well. There are also some very knowledgeable and helpful members on there.

I've been a member of Seattleguns for quite awhile now (2009). I've sold a few items as well, and have a rifle listed here and there right now.

So far I've only met good folks there.

May I suggest you start by obtaining your CPL. Cost $55.25 for 5 years. What you get is instant approval when you purchase from a dealer.

As has been stated, many FTF will require you to have a CPL befor they will sell to you. You can carry loaded in your Vehicle, and you don't have to conceal to do so. You can carry concealed if you have a coat on. etc, etc.

Yes, I know you can open carry without a license here in WA, I did for years, but when they wanted me to wait to take posession of a gun from a FFL, I broke down and spent the $55. I still OC most of the time unless I have a winter coat on.
