Seating ?

I am new to the reloading world I need to know which direction do I go. I am reloading 22-250 50 gr vmax bullets with varget powder .030 off the lands. I have a decent group at a 100 yards 1/2 moa. If I want to improve that do play with my charge or my bullet seating? I have tried four different load combinations.

Thanks

Hmmm, count your blessings and keep on shooting!

Once you are sub 5/8 MOA, each additional 1/4 MOA comes from a lot of small work.

You are at 1/2, that means stock work, cartridge work (M dies), good brass, at least RP/PPU and Lapua is better.

While you can work with COAL, You seem to be in the zone there.

Neck tension is another and the shooter and scope are more.

More effort and cost for increasing to the smaller results.

Any slight lapse or variation in any of those areas will undo you, one step forward 2 back often short term. .

I'm with RC20 on this . 5+ shots at 1/2 moa is pretty good . To start tightening that up is not necessarily hard but it comes in very small increments that are often hard to see . Consistent bullet hold could help , Redding competition seating die to help with concentricity can help . As well as adjusting seating depth . I'd just point out that seating closer to the lands will raise start pressures . So If you are already running a hot load . Seating longer may not be a good idea .
