R rem33 Moderator Dec 13, 2006 #2 It should be a Winhester 70 so you might see if the serial numbers are close to Winchesters.
J Jim Watson New member Dec 13, 2006 #3 Last time this came up, it turned out that Sears serial numbers did not run with Winchester's. A Ted Williams on a '68 action looked like it was made in 1953 if it were in with Winchester numbers.
