Sears Model 53 help

I have been willed to me a Sears Model 53 rifle in 30-06 caliber. Not real sure how to load the ammo. He didn't seem to have any clips or magazines, but seems to load good loose due to the coil spring pushing up. I believe the gun to be a Winchester Model 70 sold by Sears. Any help is appreciated.

Marty- you can do a google search on 'Sears Model 53' and you'll get quite a few hits. The gun is Winchester 70 supplied to Sears during the 1950's through the 1960's.
This thread might help you to narrow down the year to find out if it's a pre-1964 or post 1964.

Upon further search(thanks levrluvr for your response), it seems this gun has a hinged floor plate magazine. I have never seen one before but I think that this is it!!!!

Load it through the top. The floor plate is for unloading and maintenance.

My first model 70 was a Sears, model 53. Treat it well and you'll be happy.
