Sears Model 5 .22

Hi all. My dad bought this Sears lever action back in 66 or 67. Has been a great rifle with never an issue and countless rounds through it. He taught me to shoot with it and now we are teaching my kids with it. Needless to say it is a special rifle to me. Question is who actually made it and does anyone else have one. Sorry, I neglected to get the serial number. It is a Sears model 5 made in USA with JJ stamped on the right side of the barrel. There is also a longer model number 273.234 stamped on it. Look like it may be the same as the Winchester 150. Thank you guys.

For some reason I can't upload pics.

Very similar, but no checkering and the ejection port cover has horizontal grooves machined into it. I am going to get a picture up.

Thats not an ejection port cover, its part of the bolt. I mentioned I had a 190 semi auto. The fancier version was called a 290 and had the checkering.

When you get misfires let me know and I will tell you how to fix the problem. Its common to these guns.
