Sears model 200, sear and trigger trouble

So I'm pretty stumped at this and I think I'm looking at it way more complicated than it really is. A buddy asked me to look over his old Sears and Roebuck model 200 and see if I could get it working again because the trigger and safety didn't work. We'll skip over the detailed cleaning part but when I dismantled the trigger group I found the safety was just rotated away from its retention spring (easy peasy) but the trigger was not engaging the sear at all. I've fiddled and tinkered with it for a couple hours and can't seem to get it to engage at all, though I think I can disassemble and reassemble the trigger group in my sleep now. Any help would be very welcome!

Hi. A Sear 200 is a Winchester M1200. You sure all the parts are undamaged? Gunparts lists most of 'em if they aren't. Schematic is $1.50.
Anyway, the manual, that's kind of useless, is here.

The exploded drawing, that the manual doesn't have, and isn't useless,(kind of small though.) is here. Same picture but a bit bigger is on Gunparts' site.
