I had to go down and close up shop this morning and give higher headquarters a call when its over. I live north of Beaumont so I might be riding Rita out. We are supposed to get hurricane force winds here 
Anyway with traffic at a standstill nowhere to go.......
Coming back from Beaumont I had to make one hell of a detour. I had to take 10E to 12E than go into Louisana and take 110 W to 87 S to FM 253 to Hwy 96. Otherwise I would have still been sitting in traffic between Beaumont and the house.
Coming back the traffic was bumper to bumper heading north from SW LA and SE TX. Going to do some prep stuff around the house this evening. I have two 30 gal plastic trashcans and a 39 gal trash can to put in the tub to hold water.
The WalMart at the bottom of the hill has barricaded the front glass doors with secured pallets of card board boxes. Load up some AR magazines this evening and some 45 magazines.....jes in case we get any looters.
Hopefully the traffic wil clear up tommorow
