SDS (Stealth)

Is the Wilson Combat SDS (Stealth) the best compact 1911 that you can get for concealed carry?

If not, what is better and why?

You know it may be, but you do have to understand that you pay a lot of extra money without much in the way of performance change, such as in reliability.

You could save a lot of money and get a CQB or Protector compact that would be just as reliable and just as accurate.

If you have that kind of money to spend, get the SDS. However, I doubt you would be less satisfied with the two other Wilson compacts and you would save about a grand.

I have the CQB compact and it shoots like a full-sized gun in terms of felt recoil (due to heavy cone barrel). The accuracy of the gun is way beyond my skills and beyond the skills of most shooters in a defense situation where chances are you won't need to be grouping shots within 1.5" at 25 yards.

I recommend saving your money.

The Stealth is a fine piece of work, don't get me wrong.

But...

A Kimber Custom and a thousand bucks worth of customizing will serve you just as well. If not, throw in another thousand bucks. After all, a Stealth is essentially a KC with two grand worth of work into it.

Of course, a Wilson purist will likely come along shortly refuting my oppinions. That's part of the beauty of the TFL's diversity, after all.
