SD Ammunition Equivalents?

From time to time, people mention regular fmj ammo that has similar recoil characteristics as type X SD ammo. What ammo do you feel mimics various SD rounds?

I know, I know... the answer is handload to match the characteristics for cheaper practice :D , but out of factory ammo lets hear em!

I like usimg the 9mm "NATO" rounds from either Winchester or Georgia Arms. They are loaded a little hotter than standard FMJ range ammo. The recoil is close to the 124 gr +P Gold Dots that I carry. Usually find the for $12 to $14 for a box of 50. CCI Lawmen are nice practice rounds too.

I don't use FMJ or Hollow points, I use LSWCs but the ideal is the same.

Lets say I carry Brand X, a 158 gr LSWC in my pocket revolver. I simply run the carry ammo through the cronograph, then cast and load the same weight LSWC ammo to the same velocity as my carry ammo.

Thats what I use for practice and competition. Don't need to waste money practicing with expensive store bought carry ammo.

This ammo will knock over any plates or pepper poppers I hit in the verious pistol competitions I shoot, and gives me the feel, recoil, and POI as my carry ammo.

For the chronograph impaired(I don't own one...yet!), would the specifications on the box be close enough?

Thanks for the responses guys.

Certainly. If brand X says that it runs at YYY feet per seconds, and brand Z says that it also runs close to YYY feet per second, that's close enough. I doubt that you'll be able to tell the difference between, say, a load running 950 fps and one running at 975. Regardless, they'd probably chronograph differently from your handgun anyway.
