scratched up bullets

im testing my new magazines to see if they have any feed problems and to break them in. also timed drills just for fun to see how fast i can load them. all of this caused the bullets/casing to be scratched. mainly concerned about the circular ring on the casing.

is there anything to be worried about these bullets? some are defensive loads. they are 9mm

A couple things.

Mags don't need to be broken in, and you wont be able to tell if there is feeding issues until you shoot the gun.

As far as scratches go you should be just fine. The only thing I would worry about is bullet setback caused by chambering the same round repeatedly.

i see. i didnt what to say. i meant it was very difficult to load the magazine at first with my hands only. i only got about 6 bullets into a 15 round mag. i can load them all now but its still kinda hard

I really agree with Paul. I found the same loader for about $25 somewhere and it is great. I have reloaded Beretta, Ruger, Glock mags with it and never had any problems. It really saves your thumb and make reloading twice as fast for me.

ive done it by hand and it takes me 1:10 minutes or so. ive got one of the generic speed loaders and it takes me about 45 seconds with that and its less stress on my thumbs. its ok. i would love the magpula though. ive seen them on youtube some time ago and i thought it was a neat product. not gimicky either.

I have arthritis in my fingers and the UpLula has been a wonderful help. I have now ordered the new Baby UpLula which handles .22 through .380.

+1 on the UpLula. I've shown them to at least 30 people and most of them bought one of their own. I wish I had invented the thing!

You should invest in some snap caps. Reloading drills with live ammo is never a good idea.

ive tried several times on snap caps. both times ive placed an order on something gun related. its either sold out or dont even have them. its still on the to get list

Yep, a mag loader like the one shown is a nice little tool. The XD pistols even come with one. It makes loading all those mags alot easier.

Just to be clear, when I said....

I was speaking in terms of safety. Speed reload drills with live ammo outside the range is an extremely bad idea. Doing so is practically begging for a NEGLIGENT discharge.
