Scout base for 336

Does anyone know if there's a scout scope base for the Marlin 336? I know that Ashley makes one but I think they only make it for the 1895 and not the 336. A scout scope on my 336 would be really cool...

The Wild West scout mount will not fit the 336 rifle. The barrel on a 336 30-30 tapers at almost twice that of the 1895 45-70 barrel. That makes the base cant forward (will shoot low) with no real way to shim it and will not have a snug factory fit either. Ashley does make a base for the 336 and it is the same price too. Looking at about $350 for the full conversion when done properly and yes, way cool!

As was already mentioned, Ashley does make a scout scope base for the 336. I have one on a .444 Marlin with the Leupold scout scope on Leupold QRW rings and the A.O. ghost ring iron sights. I love the whole set up. I am now thinking about getting a bolt action scout rifle; Why ? I have no idea.

WEAVER IS NOW MAKING A SCOPE BASE FOR THE REM 700 AND WIN 70.SK WITH THEM THEY MIGHT JUST MAKE IT FOR THE 336.
