SCOTUS has overturned New York’s May Issue laws. It will be awhile before NY and most likely the other May Issue states update their laws and issuing regulations for issuing Permit/Licenses. All the states that are May Issue have very limited places off limits and will most likely follow what DC did and have a huge list of places we will be unable to carry even under their new Shall Issue Laws/Regulations.

Vermont Governor has signed a bill that updates their Magazine Ban Statute Per Bill S 4 which now allows for bringing higher cap mags into the state by non-residents for shooting matches. https://legislature.vermont.gov/Doc...4/S-0004 As passed by the Senate Official.pdf

Rhode Island Governor has signed S2653 and companion bill H6614 which bans magazines that can hold over 10 rounds. Residents have 6 months to meet the requirements in the new law. http://webserver.rilin.state.ri.us/BillText/BillText22/SenateText22/S2653.pdf

Handgunlaw.us is in the middle of updating most of the documents on the site to upload July 1. Indiana is going Permitless Carry and several other states have changes in their Statutes that are effective July 1. There is just a lot of work for all these changes. So none of the above changes will be added until July 1 or when they become effective.

It is very likely that all these statutes will be stricken in the near future given the second look the Supreme Court just directed for courts in the states of Hawaii Maryland California and New Jersey.

As I commented in another thread where you posted the same thing, first, it's FAR from guaranteed that the Supreme Court is going to wholesale eliminate "all these statutes" at all.

Secondly, even if they do eliminate some of them, it won't be in the near term. It's going to take years for cases to wend their way through the courts.

Here's a lawyer breakdown on the Washington mag ban:

I'm not a lawyer, but I don't trust his advice.

Where he talks about the hypothetical friends from Idaho and crossing state lines, absent a specific exception for bringing "high capacity" magazines into the state of Washington on a temporary basis I would not risk doing so. As for a Washingtonian taking legally-owned "high capacity" magazines out of the state and then bringing them back in -- that's covered by the definition of "import" in the law. The situation of the visitor from Idaho is NOT covered.

The law: https://lawfilesext.leg.wa.gov/bien...ed Legislature/5078-S.PL.pdf?q=20220703133922

The definition:

(38) "Import" means to move, transport, or receive an item from a
place outside the territorial limits of the state of Washington to a
place inside the territorial limits of the state of Washington.
"Import" does not mean situations where an individual possesses a
large capacity magazine when departing from, and returning to,
Washington state, so long as the individual is returning to
Washington in possession of the same large capacity magazine the
individual transported out of state.

Yes, common sense would suggest that if it's okay to leave with hi-cap magazines and return with them, it should be okay to come in with them and then take them with you when you leave. But it doesn't say that.
