Scott, MacDougall Kahr P9

Though I am more of a .45 and .10 mm fan, the Kahr looks like a really nice carry piece, even though it's a 9 mm [or .40]. I see that Scott, MacDougal [sp?] offers a modified Kahr P9. Has anyone ever done business with this gunsmith outfit? Can you recommend them? What about their work on the Kahr? Thx.

I've been cyber friends with Mac Scott for almost 10 years now. Before his business REALLY took off some years ago, he was a regular on the old Compuserve Firearms Forum.

I've never had anything done by his group, but many people on the old CISFF did, and his shop consistently got very high marks for their efforts.

I had SM&A do their magic on a Colt Mustang Pocketlite. I got the PCP + package - all the PCP stuff plus 25LPI frontstrap checkering, tritium inserts on the Novak sites & gnomekote. Turn around time was as predicted - 4 months. The work is fantastic. Fit and finish excellent and function flawless. As for "value for money" I did do some online comparisons and found them to be on par or better than those of the same high caliber. Would I use them again – yes without a doubt. Below are a few pictures:

I've had SM&A do three guns for me, not a loser in the bunch. I'd highly recommend them, though I don't know what the lead times are nowadays.
