Scored today! New (to me) Single Action

Been looking for a Single Action .44 Special for a long time, gave up on that, couldn't find one to my liking, so.........

Browsing gunshops today, and came across a Uberti (an Uberti?) Cattleman Flat Top in .45 Colt, used gun, but checked out O.K. They had two, I picked and chose. This gun has been fired, very little, apparently. this has the 4 3/4" barrel and black powder style frame. Also has the bullseye ejector rod, which I'm not too crazy about, asking price $399. So, I plunked down my money and brought the thing home. Already ordered a crescent head ejector rod and extra base pin screw from Brownell's. Except for the case hardened frame, close copy of Colt Flat Top. It does have the wider trigger similar to Ruger's, which I also like.

Probably will not get to range until Saturday to try this little gem out. This model was never made in .44 Special, and .357 Magnums are very scarce. The .357 would have been nice, easily made into .44 Special.

This is a whole new stage upon which to perform. Have many .45s so good loads already. Looking forward to some good shootin'.
