Scored on a Colt New Frontier today......

A Colt New Frontier in .45 Colt, or .44 Special, has been on my want list for awhile. I've been out bid on a couple on GunBroker who only want them for wallhangers. I bid on one that was auctioned three times and nobody even got to the reserve price. And they are non-existant around here, or so I thought.

Saturday I sat and bagained with a local man with a trade in of my S&W Model 19-3. We struck a handshake deal (over the internet) and I met him this morning and trade was made. So now I've got my Colt New Frontier with 4 3/4" barrel, in .45 Colt. As soon as possible will post photos.

Just about the perfect single action revolver

My only complaint is the rather plain walnut grips that come standard.
I wish that Uberti, or the like, would offer an affordable, adjustable sights SAA.

Wouldn't that be their "Callahan?"

But then, a Cattleman or similar gun can be sighted by your gunsmith with a S&W type rear sight.

My Colt SAA with S&W rear and Ruger front sight:

Bob Wright, what you refer to as your Colt SAA, is that a bit of brass frame showing just below the hammer?

 brass frame?

The 'Callahan' is .44 mag and all blue

I was thinking more along the lines of a traditional .45 and that color case frame.

Your custom sight job is exactly the kind of thing I think would be a great seller.

You got the best of that deal monetarily by at least 100%. But if both of you got what you wanted that's all that matters.

brass frame?

Yes, Sir, that is indeed brass. The gun is Colt Single Action Army, the backstrap is from an 1851 Navy Colt. Rear sight is Smith & Wesson, front sight is Ruger.

Just the way I want it.
